The Story Behind Wreath Barntique

Hello,

I’m Tina, owner, creator, and maker of all things Wreath Barntique. I stumbled into wreath making when looking for something to fill the void I felt when my sons left home. I found the process of creating, designing, and working with my hands to create something beautiful, therapeutic.   I have always loved wreaths, ribbons and flowers and wreath making gave me the reason I needed to buy (hoard) ribbons and flowers!

In January of 2024, I experienced a life changing event when my aunt passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly. She was an amazing woman, a crafter, a collector and lover of antiques. She was so talented and creative. Her untimely death was jarring to me, and it truly changed my perspective on life. What became very clear to me was that I needed to stop dreaming and start acting on my dream of owning my own small business before it was “too late”, no more fear, no more excuses.

Prior to my aunt’s passing I had only made a handful of wreaths for my family and friends. My aunt never got to see any of my designs, and I never told her how much I had loved and admired her creative talent all those years.  Since my aunt passed, I’ve continued making wreaths but there has been a transformation in my ability to “create” or “visualize” my designs that I can’t explain.  I believe in my heart that my aunt’s creative spirit is with me and helps guide me. My aunt’s gift is the inspiration behind my business motto “Created with Heart and Crafted with Soul”.  My business name “Wreath Barntique” is inspired by my love of old barns, my family’s farm and country lifestyle, and the girls’ getaways spent with my mom and family shopping at boutiques, thrift stores and junk markets, searching for and finding our “treasures”.

I didn't start this journey until later in life.  I hope reading my story inspires you to make a change in your own life no matter how big or small, no matter your age, young or "old".  I hope you find little treasures along the way and if you have someone in your life you love or admire, tell them now, don’t wait.
